Main Objective
Provide psycho-social and nutritional support to the bed ridden sick within healthcare facilities/ hospitals
Background
Since the year 2009, it has always been the tradition for MAHSRA to make minimal contributions to the sick within certain chosen hospitals or healthcare units that habour critically ill patients. We always target the 1st of January of each year. We also understand how morally broken the bed ridden sick may become as they are not privilege to be out feasting with others. We long decided to begin the feasting with them in order to encourage concern for one another, brotherhood love and healing hope for New Year. During these visits we engage the services of a psycho-social counselor or a religious leader who accompanies us while we exchange with the patients.
Through one-on-one exchanges, we provide individual toiletries and some nutritional items to the patients, and when permitted, the religious leader prays for the sick.
MAHSRA has a tradition for providing and encouraging hope to all the weak and the meek, however, due to limited resources it can only reach-out to a few at a time. We aspire to expand the vision and include more interested humanitarian caregivers or simple sympathizers to join us in this initiative
What We Need for Significant Continuity
- With an estimated reach of over 400 on-bed vulnerable patients every end of the year within any of our chosen localities; we need about 10 USD for toiletries per person annually.
- Still considering about 400 on-bed vulnerable patients, we need about 10 USD for nutritional support per person annually.
- In some cases, where patient vulnerability is unbearable, we may need to help settle some patient healthcare bills in order to promote their access to qualitative healthcare services. Depending on the healthcare circumstances, we estimate to support the settlement of healthcare bills for over 100patients with more or less than 100 USD per situation.
How Will Your Donation Build the Mission?
- By donating 10 USD, you are ascertaining that a vulnerable sick person receives a smile for assured and/or improved sanitation or nutrition on day-one of the New Year.
- By donating 50 USD or more, you are ascertaining that at least 5 vulnerable sick people receive smiles for assured and/or improved sanitation or nutrition on day-one of the New Year.
- By donating 100 USD or more you are ascertaining that, a very vulnerable patient regains hope of full treatment and the joy that he/she is not alone in his/her predicament.
By simple donating any amount, you are inspiring healing hope for sick people, granting them deep emotional happiness while their gratefulness is extended to you in return with graceful protection and life favour wishes.
